Analysts spoke about the desire of young people to leave offices
Almost half of the representatives of the zoomer generation thought about switching to non-standard employment formats, including shift work and work in remote natural regions. This is evidenced by the data from the <url> financial marketplace study, which was reviewed by Izvestia on January 29.
"Almost a third of the respondents as a whole have thought at least once a year about giving up office work in a megalopolis in favor of a more romantic and environmentally friendly employment format," the service's analysts said.
According to the survey, 28% of respondents admitted that they had considered changing their usual career. Among them, 38% would like to work in seclusion and closer to nature, 29% associated alternative employment with travel, 13% would prefer activities involving active communication with interesting people, and 12% — work related to animals. Another 8% found it difficult to answer or chose other options.
The study participants identified shift work in the northern regions of the country, seasonal employment on farms and agricultural enterprises, work in nature reserves, as well as participation in environmental and volunteer projects with outdoor living. Young respondents were particularly interested in professions related to ecotourism and aviation.
Analysts also found out that a significant part of the respondents are ready to sacrifice their income level for a more comfortable lifestyle in terms of personal values. Among those who are thinking about changing their profession, 41% agree to a 10-20% reduction in earnings, and another 27% admit a 20-30% drop in income. 18% of the study participants are ready to reduce their salaries by more than a third if their work brings satisfaction and a sense of meaning, while only 14% said they are ready to consider alternative options only if their income level remains the same or increases.
Zoomers were most often interested in "eco-friendly" professions: 49% of representatives of this age group were thinking about a radical change in their career path. Research expeditions to the North or South Poles, ecotourism, and work in nature reserves turned out to be the most attractive areas for them.
The propensity for such changes, as the survey showed, largely depends on professional experience. Among professionals with up to five years of work experience, 46% admit a change in field of activity and a noticeable decrease in income. In the group with experience from six to 15 years, 33% turned out to be such, and among employees who have been in the profession for more than 15 years, 21%.
In addition, representatives of the IT sector, marketing and advertising, as well as the creative industries, spoke more often than others about the desire to try non-standard employment formats.
Earlier, on September 6, in the Selecty study and hh.ru "The source code of the ideal job of an IT specialist" named the main factors for zoomers when applying for a job. Zoomers born from 1997 to 2012 are increasingly making themselves known on the labor market and are becoming the subject of active discussions in society and the media. Generational theories are particularly relevant, which highlight their unique features, such as the priority of personal interests over work tasks.
