In Irkutsk, a man took hostage and killed a ward of the Obereg Foundation
In Irkutsk, a man took hostage and killed a ward of the charity foundation "Obereg". This was announced on January 28 by the head of the foundation, Alexander Sobolev.
"Last night [the man] chose a random, innocent victim. Having substituted a knife, he took a completely different resident of the "Amulet" to his apartment, took her hostage at 9 p.m. at a bus stop near a store," he wrote on the foundation's page on the VKontakte social network.
According to him, a woman with a seven-year-old son turned to the foundation for protection from her husband, who had been beating and threatening her for several years. After contacting the police, an enraged man tracked down the location of the foundation and took a random woman who lived there hostage at a bus stop.
The police officers arrived and began negotiations, but after two o'clock in the morning, the man surrendered and said that he had strangled his hostage. The victim left two small children, who were handed over to their grandparents. Psychologists work with them. The criminal has been detained.
On the same day, the main Investigation Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Moscow region opened a criminal case against a man who killed a roommate with a knife and wounded a neighbor with it. The roommate died of her injuries at the scene. The injured neighbor was taken to the hospital.
