"An investigator from the Kurchatov Police Department has opened a criminal case under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruelty to several animals")," the Telegram channel said.
The reason was a media check on the discovery of dozens of dead dogs. It was established that the police received complaints from residents about possible mass poisoning. During the inspection, 9 corpses of dogs with signs of toxic poisoning were found on the spot. The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, on December 2, it was reported that an unknown man had beaten and shot two domestic dogs after their owner refused to pay "compensation" for the dog sniffing his leg. A criminal case was opened into the crime under Part 2 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruelty to animals").
