On January 27, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the administration of American leader Donald Trump is ready to use force to ensure the maximum possible cooperation between the acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, and the United States.

"We are ready to use force to ensure maximum cooperation (with Venezuela. — Ed.), if other methods do not prove successful," Bloomberg quoted him as saying.

In addition, Rubio said, Rodriguez has committed to opening up Venezuela's energy sector to American companies. According to him, the funds from the sale of oil will have to be used to purchase goods from the United States.

On January 21, Reuters learned about Rodriguez's plans to visit the United States. She herself promised, if she happens to go to Washington, to do it as befits a Venezuelan woman — with her head held high and the tricolor of her state unfurled.

On January 26, the interim president of Venezuela stressed that her state does not obey orders from external forces, but its own people. She added that Caracas is not afraid of interacting with Washington, which in turn should be built "on respect for international legality and respect for the dignity and history of Venezuela."

On January 27, Rodriguez announced that Caracas intends to resolve existing differences with Washington through diplomacy and political contacts that have already begun to be established. According to her, the work on creating the agenda is currently underway jointly with Trump and Rubio.
