Alexey Dedov, the former deputy governor of the Kursk region, accused of embezzlement during the construction of fortifications in the border areas of the Kursk region, said on January 27 that all the funds he received in the form of "kickbacks" were transferred to the ex-governor of the region Alexei Smirnov.

"Yes, I received (funds. — Ed.). <...> I did not specify (why ex-deputy Vasiliev transferred funds. — Ed.). I transferred these funds in full to Alexei Borisovich Smirnov," RIA Novosti quoted Dedov as saying.
