- The crews of the T-72B3M destroyed the Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold in the Red Army area.
Crews of T-72B3M tanks of the 15th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Combined Arms Army of the Center group of forces destroyed a camouflaged stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on January 28 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to the ministry, the coordinates of the base were obtained as a result of ground reconnaissance, then confirmed by the operators of the unmanned systems troops.
"They were knocked out of the stronghold (stronghold. — Ed.), it turns out. We were bullied a lot, but we broke the support anyway," Guard sergeant and tank commander Andrei Dremin said about the task.
The tank's crew operated from a closed firing position, correcting coordinates and monitoring target damage using drones. According to objective control data, the stronghold was destroyed along with the enemy's manpower in it.
"We worked behind the Kotlin mine. There are forest belts, a railway. The enemy was trying to gain a foothold there. There was a team, and we worked on them. We worked well," said Second Lieutenant, platoon commander Roman Permakov.
On January 27, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the troops of the Vostok group's unmanned systems had identified and destroyed positions of field artillery and an AFU tank camouflaged in the forest belts of the Zaporizhia region. The enemy attempted to carefully disguise their equipment using protective frames with wooden floors, but was still detected by Russian military personnel.
