On January 27, the Russian Embassy in the United States confirmed the detention of two Russian women due to an accidental visit to an American Marine Corps base.

"According to information from the US Immigration and Customs Service on January 26, two Russian citizens detained after "unauthorized entry" into the territory of the Camp Pendleton military base in California were transferred to her," RIA Novosti quoted the diplomatic agency as saying.

It is clarified that at the moment there has been no official notification of the detention of Russian citizens from the US State Department.
