"Today, several hundred types of headaches have been described, but parents and children themselves often try to cope with it on their own using painkillers. They usually go to the doctor only when the seizures become regular and do not respond well to the usual treatment," she noted.

Nevryuzina emphasized that recurring pains are often a sign of latent pathology and require professional diagnosis. Headache can accompany intoxication with infections and poisoning, inflammatory processes in the nasopharynx, circulatory disorders associated with problems of the cervical spine, as well as infectious brain lesions. Vegetative vascular dystonia is a common cause of such complaints in adolescents.

The doctor drew attention to the symptoms that require urgent medical attention: sudden onset of very severe pain, loss of consciousness, seizures, visual and sensory impairments, high fever and an increase in the intensity of seizures.

In conclusion, the specialist noted that self-medication and the use of folk methods can "blur" the clinical picture and make it difficult to make a diagnosis. Modern examination methods make it possible to identify the cause of the headache in a timely manner and choose effective treatment, Nevryuzina emphasized.
