Boris Mironov, the former head coach of Lada Togliatti, became part of the coaching staff of SKA St. Petersburg. The appointment was announced on January 27 in the press service of the hockey club.

"Today we have our debut on the coaching bridge! Boris Mironov will be with the team in the next match — the two—time Olympic medalist is now on the coaching staff of the army," the SKA Telegram channel says.

Mironov is 53 years old. As a player, he played 716 games in the National Hockey League (NHL), became the silver and bronze medalist of the Olympic Games. As a coach, Mironov also worked in the CSKA system, headed Spartak Moscow, and was an assistant at Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk and Traktor Chelyabinsk.

Canadian Gerard Galland left the position of head coach of the KHL hockey club Shanghai Dragons on January 13 for health reasons. As the coach himself noted, recently his health did not allow him to fully perform his professional duties, so it was decided to leave the post.
