In 2025, 283.1 thousand Chinese brand cars were re-registered in the Russian secondary market. Compared to 2024, this figure increased by 44%, and the share of such cars in the used market increased to 4.5%. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on January 27.

According to him, almost two thirds of the secondary market of Chinese used cars (64.4%) is accounted for by cars that were produced in 2021-2025.

The share of Chinese electric cars in the secondary market is 1.4%, and the share of rechargeable hybrids (PHEV) is 4.1%. The majority of cars have gasoline engines (93%), including mild hybrids.

Almost three quarters of Chinese cars on the secondary market (74.1%) are crossovers and SUVs. The top three most common brands are Chery (21.9%), Geely (19.6%) and Haval (13.6%), which together account for more than half of the secondary car market from China (55.1%). The top ten also includes Lifan, Changan, Great Wall, Exeed, Omoda, Tank and Lixiang brands.

As previously reported on this day, in 2025, used car sales in Russia amounted to almost 6.24 million units. This is 3.3% more than in 2024. Five brands account for half of the Russian secondary market. The Lada 2107 sedan has once again become the most popular model among used passenger cars.
