Kindergartens and schools in St. Petersburg began to close for quarantine due to the rise in the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections. This was announced by the Education Committee on Tuesday, January 27.

According to information 78.ru The educational process has been suspended in 10 grades of schools, as well as in 14 kindergarten groups.

The peak incidence traditionally occurs in February, RAS academician Alexander Gorelov said earlier. According to him, adenoviruses and rhinoviruses circulate all year round, so the incidence will be one way or another before the onset of heat.

Earlier it was reported that the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza in Russia has increased 1.5 times due to the return of Russians to their work schedule. The virus is spreading especially actively among children and students.
