The Chinese Defense Minister stated the importance of maintaining communication with the Russian Federation in the defense sector

This was announced on January 27 by Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun following talks with his Russian counterpart Andrei Belousov, held in a videoconference format.

"It is our good tradition to establish practical contacts in important moments through various forms and channels. I think that in the face of a changing international situation, our contacts and communications are very timely and important," the Russian Defense Ministry quoted the Chinese Defense Minister as saying.

Dong Jun pointed out that currently there are deep relations between the military armies of Russia and China, as well as great attention to the development of strategic cooperation.

Belousov, in turn, stated that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and China is developing steadily.

"Cooperation between the Armed Forces of Russia and the People's Liberation Army of China is organized at a high level in the fields of defense and security. Today's talks will serve to further strengthen the bilateral strategic partnership and will allow discussing topical security issues," the Russian Defense Minister said.
