Russian mathematician Ivan Remizov made a breakthrough in the field of fundamental mathematics by finding a way to solve complex problems that had been considered unsolvable for 190 years. This was announced on January 27 by the press service of the Higher School of Economics.

"Imagine that you are driving a car. If the road is perfectly level and the speed is constant, it is easy to calculate the travel time. This is a problem with constant coefficients. Now imagine that the road surface is constantly changing, the wind is blowing with different forces, and the angle of the mountain is always different under the wheels. In such conditions, your speed and time depend on many changing factors," the university's press service quoted him as saying.
