Gostiny Dvor, which has been in an abandoned state for several years, is being reconstructed in Kungur in the Perm Region. The building is recognized as an object of cultural heritage of federal significance.

The work permit was issued by the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites. The reconstruction is scheduled to be completed in August 2028, writes the news agency " <url>" with reference to the city administration.

Gostiny Dvor was built in Kungur in 1865-1876 by architect Rudolf Karvovsky. It was considered a symbol of the trade and merchant Kungur. It is the only typological example of such structures preserved in the Urals. The building has been mothballed for several years. In November 2025, the State Expert Examination issued a positive opinion on its reconstruction for the third time.

The concept assumes that on the basis of Gostiny Dvor it will be possible to create a multifunctional public space, which will include venues for fairs, rooms for creative workshops and exhibition halls.

During the reconstruction of the building, its renovated facade will be brought as close to the historical one as possible, the foundation will be strengthened, stairs will be repaired, brickwork will be restored, engineering networks and ventilation system will be modernized.

Earlier, on January 23, it was reported that the renovation of the lobby and auditorium of the bolshoi stage began in the Perm Academic Theater. The renovation project includes the modernization of mechanical equipment and a computer control system for the stage. The number of seats will increase from 600 to 850, new chairs will be installed in the hall and a balcony will be opened.
