In Hungary, a man was detained who was launching a drone in the immediate vicinity of the Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Budapest. This was announced on January 27 by the Hungarian Police Air Patrol Service on its website.

According to the ministry, the incident occurred on January 20 in the town of Vechers, located on the southeastern outskirts of the Hungarian capital. The man launched the drone from the territory of a local factory, raising it several times to a height of about 3 thousand meters.

The police note that several cases have been initiated against the detainee, including criminal ones, for violations of the rules for the use of airspace and the operation of drones.

Law enforcement agencies emphasize the particular danger of the incident, as it threatened aircraft arriving and departing from the international airport. The detainee did not deny his guilt. He stated that he launched the drone for entertainment purposes.

In October last year, Norwegian authorities detained three German citizens on suspicion of launching drones in a restricted five-kilometer zone around the airport. It is reported that the detainees are about 20 years old. They were released shortly after their arrest.
