Russia revived the pre-war Russo-Balt car brand
The Russo-Balt automobile brand, which is being revived in Perm, has launched an official website. On it, the company published images of its first car, which turned out to be an electric van with a design reminiscent of the futuristic Tesla Cybertruck pickup truck.
It is claimed that the Russo-Balt van has a stainless steel body. It is equipped with a 200 hp electric motor and a 115 kWh battery that allows you to travel 400 km on a single charge. The battery and interior temperature monitoring system provides for operation at temperatures from -45°C to +45°C.
According to the Telegram channel "Trucks and in General," with reference to Viktor Nekrasov, director of Russo-Balt LLC, the electric van will be produced by order at a price of 6.5 million rubles, and the first copies are scheduled to be shipped to customers in January 2027. He confirmed that the company had bought the rights to use the Russo-Balt brand in Russia.
According to him, the certification process is still underway. The load capacity of the van is 1000 kg, it can be operated with the rights of a "passenger" category B. The body is welded by hand
Russo-Balt cars were produced from 1909 to 1918. In total, several hundred copies were built.
Earlier, on January 19, it was reported that by the end of 2025, 12.5 thousand new passenger electric vehicles were registered in Russia, which is 30% less than in 2024, when 17.8 thousand such cars were sold.
