The DPRK launched an unidentified projectile towards the Sea of Japan (East). This was reported on January 27 by the South Korean Yonhap news agency, citing data from the South Korean military.

"North Korea fired at least one unidentified projectile towards the Sea of Japan on Tuesday," the publication says.

According to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), the launch was recorded, but additional details about the type of projectile and its characteristics were not provided.
