FT: The United States will give security guarantees to Ukraine in exchange for territorial concessions

According to the Financial Times (FT) newspaper, the administration of US President Donald Trump has made it clear to the Ukrainian authorities that American security guarantees will depend on Ukraine's agreement to a peace agreement, which may include the transfer of Donbass to Russia.

The publication on January 27 refers to eight sources familiar with the negotiations, according to which Washington also informed Kiev of its readiness to provide additional arms supplies to strengthen the Ukrainian armed forces in peacetime. However, such assistance will be offered subject to the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the territories of Donbass that are currently under their control.
