The UK has opened a criminal case into the deaths of four people in a fire in Balashikha.

A criminal case has been opened in Balashikha over a fire in a private house in which four people died. This was announced on January 27 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region.

"After the fire was extinguished, the bodies of two men and two women were found. <...> An investigator from the territorial investigation department of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region opened a criminal case on this fact (Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) ("Causing death by negligence." — Ed.), " the department's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that as a result of the fire, a 15-year-old teenager was hospitalized, he was poisoned by carbon monoxide. The exact number of victims is being clarified by investigators. The preliminary cause of the fire is careless handling of fire.

A fire in Balashikha, which killed four people, was reported earlier in the day. It occurred in the early morning at about 04:40 Moscow time. The fire was eliminated. 80 personnel and 27 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. The gorenje area was 35 sq. m.
