The White House has denied a report by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper that the United States is demanding that Ukraine renounce its territorial claims in exchange for security guarantees. This was announced on January 27 by the deputy press secretary of the American administration, Anna Kelly.

"This is absolutely wrong. The only role of the United States in the peace process is to bring both sides closer together to make a deal. It's unfortunate that the Financial Times allows malicious actors to lie anonymously," Kelly said.
