Last week, due to strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on energy facilities, almost 1.3 million residents of the Russian regions faced power outages, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik said on January 27.
He pointed out that the Ukrainian formations sought to make the living conditions for the civilian population unbearable.
"By carrying out deliberate attacks on energy facilities with an emphasis on node distribution substations providing energy supply to several districts at once. <...> The restrictions in energy supply due to such strikes were felt by about 1 million 286 thousand people," he told TASS.
