The State Duma (DG) plans to increase penalties for parents who conceal their children's whereabouts from other relatives and prohibit communication. This was reported on January 27 by the newspaper Kommersant.

The deputies interviewed by the newspaper's correspondent supported the amendments and noted that the current measures, which have not changed since 2011, do not have the desired effect.
