The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela does not obey orders from outside forces, but its own people. This was announced on January 26 by interim President Delcy Rodriguez.

"The people of Venezuela do not accept orders from any external forces. The people have a government, and this government is subordinate to the people. This is reciprocity in these relations between the Venezuelan people, their authorities and their institutions," she said on the air of the Venezolana de Televisión TV channel.

During her speech, Rodriguez called statements by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent about Washington's intention to govern Caracas "inappropriate and insulting." Rodriguez added that her country is not afraid of cooperation with the American side, but it must be built "on respect for international legality and respect for the dignity and history of Venezuela."

Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores Rodriguez, who took the oath of office the day after the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores Rodriguez on January 4, has already stated that her state is governed by the government and the people. The next day, US President Donald Trump said that Venezuela is currently governed by the United States. He called his country "the main one" in this area.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on January 26 that Moscow was in constant contact with the new leadership of the republic. He said that the Russian and Venezuelan sides have projects that both actors are interested in continuing.
