The Finnish politician announced the voluntary subordination of the European Union to the United States because of resources

The European Union (EU) voluntarily chose to subordinate itself to the United States due to the rejection of Russian gas. This was announced on January 26 by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish Freedom Alliance party.

"The EU is playing according to the US scenario, severing all ties with Russia, and thereby weakening its position. In this sense, the EU voluntarily chose to subordinate itself to the United States instead of being independent and protecting its own interests," says his publication in X.

Memo added that the EU's dependence on U.S. energy resources is a strategic mistake.

On January 26, the Council of the European Union approved a complete ban on the supply of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) from January 1, 2027, and pipeline gas from September 30, 2027. It was specified that the ban would take effect six weeks after the decree came into force. The EU noted that a transition period will be provided for existing contracts.
