The critical information infrastructure of Russian air transport is operating normally. This was announced on January 26 by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation after the Leonardo reservation system failed.

"The causes and consequences of the temporary malfunction of the Leonardo reservation system were discussed at a meeting of the operational staff at the Federal Air Transport Agency. <...> The critical information infrastructure of Russian air transport is operating normally," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

It is noted that the reason for the Leonardo failure was a technical problem with the Sirena provider (Sirena Travel).

Alexander Sinelnikov, CEO of Izhavia Airlines, announced on January 26 that the Astra and Leonardo ticket booking systems were operating normally. He also clarified that Sirena "has not been fully figured out yet."

Earlier that day, it became known that the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Federal Air Transport Agency had increased monitoring of domestic air transport amid a malfunction in the Leonardo reservation system. It was noted that, where possible, a manual way of registering citizens for flights is carried out, as well as other measures are being taken to respond to the situation.

On the same day, Aeroflot temporarily restricted passenger and baggage check-in, as well as ticket processing, reissue and refund operations due to a malfunction in the Leonardo booking system. In addition, the provision of additional services in all the airline's sales channels, including the website, contact center and agency networks, was suspended.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
