Sobyanin spoke about the reconstruction of school building No. 218 in Moscow

In Moscow, the reconstruction of about 100 schools, built more than 30 years ago and in need of renovation, continues. This was announced on Monday, January 26, by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his Telegram channel.

He noted that among such facilities is the school building No. 218 on Vuchetich Street in Timiryazevsky district, where work began in April 2025. It is expected that the renovated building will begin accepting students as early as September 1, 2026, Moscow 24 clarifies. Schoolchildren from grades 1 to 11 will study here, the Moscow City News agency notes.

The project provides for renovation of the facade, replacement of engineering communications, screed floors, interior decoration and landscaping, writes NSN.

According to the mayor, the school will have universal and specialized classrooms, a modern media library, a laboratory and research complex, as well as sports and gym halls, the website notes. kp.ru . The educational institution will be equipped with new furniture and modern equipment.

Sobyanin stressed that after the reconstruction, the school will actually receive a second life and will be able to serve for many more decades.
