The fastest growth in mileage was recorded in Moscow and St. Petersburg. In the capital, the growth in two years amounted to 39 thousand km (up to 173.4 thousand km), and in St. Petersburg — by almost 46 thousand km (up to 181.6 thousand km).

The most "fresh" cars in terms of mileage are traditionally offered by authorized dealers. In addition, their mileage is growing more slowly than that of private traders and professional sellers: in two years it has increased by only 8 thousand km (up to 106.1 thousand km).

The cost of cars from professional sellers (resellers) increased by more than 12 thousand km. In January 2024, this indicator for resellers was 128.3 thousand km, and by the end of 2025 it reached 140.8 thousand km. The highest mileage values were in ads from private sellers. For them, this indicator has grown most noticeably in two years — by more than 22 thousand km (up to 118.3 thousand km).

According to experts, in conditions of rising car prices, private owners often decide to put a car up for sale only when the mileage has already exceeded a psychologically important mark for them. Many people try to use the car for as long as possible, postponing the sale until the last.

Alexey Podshchekoldin, head of the Russian Automobile Dealers Association (ROAD), announced on January 21 that 72.2% of the country's passenger car fleet in Russia is occupied by cars over the age of 10.

According to ROAD's calculations, the average age of a car in Russia is now about 16-17 years old. To rejuvenate the fleet, 3 million new cars need to be sold per year, then 10 years later there will be 30 million cars in the Russian Federation at the age of 10.
