In Vladivostok, an elevator carrying two women caught fire in an apartment building on Lugovaya Street. This was announced on January 26 by a source of Izvestia.

"Anyway, I caught fire in the elevator, we barely got out with the girl," the victim said.

The video shows that her face is covered with soot from the smoke. According to the source, at the moment of opening the doors, both passengers were doused in flames, after which the elevator doors jammed. The woman said that the girl who was traveling with her received serious burns to her body and face, and she was urgently hospitalized.

Residents reported that the fire occurred on the top floor near the garbage chute. Garbage and furniture piled nearby ignited there. The management company (CC) has long ordered the floor to be cleared of junk, but no one responded to the request.

After the emergency, the residents themselves intend to deal with the problem, demand verification of the actions of the management company, and also seek the reaction of the supervisory authorities.

In November 2025, a criminal case was opened into the fact that a child fell into an elevator shaft in one of the new buildings in Voronezh. A video appeared in local publications showing a child falling into an elevator shaft after pressing the call button and leaning against the door.

It was noted that the boy was saved by his father, who also went down into the mine. The Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region should assess the actions of officials responsible for the condition of the elevator equipment.
