301 road accidents occurred in Russia over the weekend
Over the past weekend, 301 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 33 people were killed and 391 injured. 21 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on January 26 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
So, in the Ulyanovsk region, on 42 km of the Tsilna –Chertanovka regional highway, in the evening, a 27-year-old car driver lost control in a snowfall and drove off the road into a ditch, followed by overturning the car. As a result of the accident, a 34-year-old woman who was in the front passenger seat died. The driver was hospitalized with serious injuries. As a result of 79 accidents involving pedestrians, 12 people were killed, and 69 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Nine child pedestrians are among the injured, six of them were injured when crossing the roadway in unidentified places. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 37 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 42 outside their area of operation.
31 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 34 young road users, including 25 passengers, were injured. There are no dead children. In addition, over the weekend, 26 bus accidents were recorded on the roads of the Russian Federation, in which two people died, and 34 more road users, including three children, needed medical help. The reason for 10 incidents were traffic violations committed by their drivers.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that bus drivers correctly assess their dimensions and speed, weather conditions, visibility, condition and width of the roadway, terrain and the possibility of skidding on a slippery winter road. Earlier in the day, the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate announced a preventive raid on a pedestrian crossing. The event will take place tomorrow, January 27.
