The auto expert called the maximum mileage of a Chinese car without breakdowns
A modern Chinese car with a gasoline engine can travel 200-300 thousand km without serious breakdowns. For an electric car, this figure reaches 500 thousand km. On January 26, auto expert Alexander Kovalev told about this.
"At the moment, there are no cases when a car from China has traveled a million kilometers without replacing key components. At the same time, a number of Chinese automakers claim a one-million-kilometer warranty, but in practice this is more marketing. The brands Chery in the domestic market and Jetour in the UAE and South Africa took such a step," Rossiyskaya Gazeta quoted Kovalev as saying on January 26.
The expert noted that Chinese car companies do not set themselves the task of developing a car with a resource of 1 million km. In China, the period of car ownership is shortening, buyers of new cars change them about as often as household appliances — once every few years.
However, as the expert pointed out, modern Chinese cars, with proper maintenance, are capable of undergoing comparable runs with cars of other foreign brands without major repairs.
Earlier, on January 21, it was reported that in Russia, 72.2% of the country's passenger car fleet is occupied by cars over the age of 10. According to ROAD's calculations, the average age of a car in Russia is now about 16-17 years old. To rejuvenate the fleet, 3 million new cars need to be sold per year, then 10 years later there will be 30 million cars in the Russian Federation at the age of 10.
