Public transport in Murmansk and Severomorsk will operate free of charge until the power supply is restored. This was announced on January 26 by the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis in the Telegram channel.
"Tomorrow and until the restoration of power supply, trolleybuses and buses will travel at regulated and unregulated tariffs in Murmansk, BUT Severomorsk, as well as between them, will be free," he said.
The head of the region also warned that the peak load on the network could increase on Monday. This is due to the fact that many residents are going to work or study at this moment.
Special heating points were set up for local residents who were left without heat.
"I immediately realized that I had to come here and help people. That's why I came and organized my guys to help in every possible way. I see that many people need help, because it's really difficult to live without light, without heating, without water," Alexei Gorbachev, a student at gymnasium No. 1, who helps those who come to the heating point in the institution, told Izvestia.
