Russia intends to establish new rules for the return of technically complex goods
Starting from February 1, new rules will be established for the return of low-quality, technically complex goods. This was announced on January 26 by Alexander Khaminsky, a lawyer and head of the Center for Law Enforcement in Moscow and the Moscow Region.
"Starting from February 1, 2026, a new rule will come into force in Russia, allowing consumers to demand compensation for the price difference when returning low—quality technically complex goods, taking into account their wear and tear and the year of manufacture, which protects them from price increases and changes in the market situation at the time the claim is satisfied," Khaminsky told RIA Novosti.
It is noted that this measure will protect buyers from a situation when, due to inflation or rising prices, they receive back only the amount they paid, but could not purchase a similar product due to changes in value.
