HC Avangard traded Gagarin Cup winner Kostin to CSKA

The winner of the Gagarin Cup in 2021 as part of the Omsk hockey club (HC) Avangard, striker Klim Kostin became a player of the Moscow HC CSKA as a result of an exchange. This was announced by Avangard in its Telegram channel.

Kirill Dolzhenkov, a 21-year-old forward, joined Avangard, and the Omsk club also received sports rights to forward Egor Afanasyev, who currently plays for the San Jose Barracuda club in the American Hockey League (AHL).

"We are glad that the deal with CSKA has taken place. The Army was interested in acquiring Klim Kostin, and we wanted to receive decent compensation. Kirill Dolzhenkov is a young, promising striker with height, good coordination and skating skills. I am sure he will fit in perfectly and add depth," said Alexey Sopin, General Manager of HC Avangard.

The publication noted that the graduate of Moscow hockey made his debut in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in the 2022/2023 season. He has 131 league games to his credit and 30 points scored (18+12) with a score of "+8". Dolzhenkov will perform at number 12 in Avangard.
