Ilya Wolfson, a State Duma deputy from Tatarstan, suggested that the Ministry of Education complicate the procedure for transferring to a family form of education and increase the number of student attestations to twice a year. He announced this on January 25 in a letter to Minister Sergei Kravtsov and in a conversation with RBC.

"We do not question the right of parents to choose, but we consider it necessary to introduce mechanisms of responsibility and professional support in order to protect the interests of the child," explained Wolfson.

He noted that the sharp increase in the number of children in family education is an example of Tatarstan, and the goal of the initiative is to get a federal picture and uniform control criteria.

Earlier, on October 1, 2025, it was reported that postponing the start of lessons at 9 a.m. could increase children's attention and memory and reduce stress levels. At the same time, families whose parents work early in the morning may face the problem of looking after children before lessons. Psychologist Maria Todorova noted that the idea of a more gentle school morning is justified, but it is important to offer parents ways to adapt to the new schedule.
