Ukraine wants to be part of the European Union (EU) in 2027, when it is ready. This was stated on January 25 by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference in Vilnius with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and Polish President Karol Nawrocki.

"We want 2027 [to join the EU], when Ukraine will be ready. Technically, Ukraine will be ready in the first half of 2026 for the opening of all clusters," Zelensky said.

According to him, Ukraine will be technically ready in 2027, but only after the end of the Ukrainian conflict.
