Flight tests of an experimental unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with a rifle mounted on its body have taken place in China, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) newspaper reports, citing a published study.

According to the publication, during the tests, the UAV fired 20 single shots at a target from a distance of 100 m and demonstrated one hundred percent accuracy of hits. When firing from a distance of 50 m, the target was hit in 19 out of 20 cases. As noted by Jiang Huajian, senior engineer at Wuhan Guide Infrared, one miss was due to a defect in the ammunition.

It is noted that the special feature of the tests was the use of a standard infantry rifle mounted directly on the body of the drone. According to the newspaper, earlier designs of this type used specially created or modified firearms.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on December 29 last year that North Korea had conducted exercises to launch long-range strategic cruise missiles. The leader of the state, Kim Jong-un, also took part in them.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
