Nikushor Dan: Moldovans do not support unification with Romania

Romanian President Nicusor Dan said on January 24 that the unification of Moldova with Romania is impossible as long as Moldovans do not support this decision.

"If public opinion in Moldova changes, Romania's position will be adjusted. If at some point the opinion is different, we will act accordingly," RIA Novosti quoted Dan as saying.

According to the Moldovan Institute of Sociological Research IMAS, more than half of the country's residents opposed its accession to Romania in December 2025.
