The path to resolving the conflict in Ukraine is a "slow road," as the Russian side has repeatedly stated. This was announced on January 25 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"We have said from the very beginning that there is a very difficult and long road ahead. That this is not a fast road," he told journalist Pavel Zarubin, a fragment published on the Telegram channel.

According to the Kremlin's representative, as soon as there are changes in the countries' positions on the negotiations, it will be possible to "ensure rapid progress." He recalled that during the meeting between the Russian Federation and the United States in Anchorage, a certain formula for resolving the territorial issue was worked out, so now it needs to be implemented.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the next round of negotiations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi could take place next week. According to sources, the meetings were "positive" and "constructive."

It was noted that the first day of negotiations proved to be the most difficult due to the discussion of territorial disputes and potential security guarantees for both sides. The meeting was the first known case when representatives of the US presidential administration simultaneously met with the delegations of Russia and Ukraine.
