According to the newspaper, even before officially taking office, Trump publicly admitted the possibility of using military force to establish control over Greenland. There was also a tense telephone conversation between him and Frederiksen, during which the American leader sharply expressed his position.

In an interview with the publication, the Danish prime minister noted that Trump expresses his thoughts very directly, adding that she herself adheres to the same manner of communication.
