The Federation Council talked about the new rules for calculating funded pensions from 2026

Starting from January 1, 2026, the funded pension in Russia will be calculated according to the new rules. The changes will affect citizens who have reached retirement age, as well as those who are eligible for early retirement. Senator Igor Murog told about it on January 25.

"Now the amount of the monthly payment is determined by a new formula: the amount of savings is divided into 270 months (22.5 years)," he said in an interview with RT.

According to the senator, the funded part of the pension was formed by Russians who were employed between 2002 and 2013, that is, at the expense of contributions made before 2014. He added that it was possible to replenish pension savings through voluntary contributions, as well as co-financing programs or maternity capital.

Murog recalled that it is also possible to receive savings at a time, but only if the estimated pension does not exceed 10% of the federal pensioner's subsistence level. In particular, in 2026, this minimum is set at 16,288 rubles, and those people whose pension is less than 1,629 rubles per month have the right to receive a one-time payment.

The difference framework: the gap between the pensions of working and unemployed will decrease to 2-3 thousand.

On the same day, Natalia Melnikova, a senator and former head of the Pskov Region department of the Social Fund, announced that pensioners from among the privileged categories are entitled to monthly cash payments and social security supplements for pensions with incomes below the subsistence level. According to her, this pension is provided to certain categories of citizens from among veterans, disabled people, including children with disabilities, heroes, former prisoners of fascism, people affected by radiation, and other categories.
