The teacher named three mistakes in the child's development at an early age
Many mistakes in the development of a child at an early age do not become apparent immediately, but make themselves felt already during schooling. Marina Mai, the founder of the Art Academy-Academy of Differences educational centers, an expert in the field of intellectual development and early childhood education, warned about this on January 25 in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».
"The problem is that many early development errors do not become noticeable immediately. They are not visible in three or four years. They "get out" precisely in elementary school, when they begin to expect independence, attention and inner concentration from the child," she said.
So, one of the common mistakes is to rely on the child to gain knowledge instead of acquiring the necessary skills. In this case, the child, at a glance, seems ready for the learning process — he knows letters, reads syllables, and even counts to a hundred. At the same time, learning problems appear already in elementary school, such as the inability to work in the classroom and listen to the teacher, fear of mistakes, and rapid fatigue.
At the same time, parents themselves often do not understand why their child has good knowledge and cannot apply it in the learning process.
"The second mistake is excessive help. When a child is constantly guided, corrected, and prompted, he gets used to being "guided." Outwardly, he may look obedient and diligent, which is very convenient, but inside he does not form decision—making skills," the expert said.
As a result, at school, the child is constantly waiting for hints from the outside, afraid to take his own steps. If the assignment seems non-standard, then such a student is immediately lost.
The third common mistake involves an age-blind learning process. That is, when a preschool-age child is expected to be responsible and focused like a school student.
"For example, classes on preparing for school in the format of "at desks, as in school," which is categorically unacceptable for preschool age. Technically, he can handle it. But the resource of the psyche is consumed too early. In elementary school, such children often "run out of steam." It's already hard for them," May said.
Ekaterina Mytskikh, a Russian language teacher at Online School No. 1, pointed out on January 26 the frequent mistakes of schoolchildren at the final interview. According to the expert, the first part of the interview includes an expressive reading of the text and its retelling with the obligatory inclusion of a quote.
Common mistakes here are haste, inattention to the specified accents, distortion of words and loss of narrative logic. The declension of numerals is particularly difficult, which regularly leads to a loss of points. Students often try to write down the text verbatim instead of highlighting the keywords, which causes panic in a limited time.
