Ryabkov announced the delay of the US request for the appointment of a new ambassador to the Russian Federation

The United States has not yet sent an agreman request for a new ambassador to Russia, and there have been no preliminary contacts in this regard. This was announced on January 25 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

"We really have no understanding when the US administration will send an agreman request for a new ambassador. There were no even probing contacts in this regard," he said in an interview with TASS, commenting on the delay in the appearance of the American diplomat in Moscow.

The suspension of the issuance of immigration visas to Russians does not affect this process.

Earlier, on June 27, 2025, it was reported that the US Ambassador to Russia, Lynn Tracy, had completed her work and left Moscow.
