During the performance of a combat mission in an important tactical area, sailor Sergei Burulev, together with a detachment under his command, broke through the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), despite the organized all-round defense. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Sunday, January 25.

"During the assault on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an important tactical area, despite the organized circular defense of the militants, the group under his command managed to successfully storm an important stronghold, break through into the depth of the enemy's defenses and gain a foothold in enemy positions," the department noted.

It is noted that further, the enemy, wishing to recapture the lost positions, began shelling Burulev's group with mortars. However, the commander correctly distributed the troops into shelters, and at that time he identified the direction of the mortar attack and transmitted the information to the Russian gunners, who destroyed the AFU crew with return fire.

As a result of the skilful actions of Sailor Burulev, the enemy's stronghold was captured without losses.

The Defense Ministry also said that Sergeant Igor Gnatchenko carried out the task of delivering ammunition and property to the positions of the Russian Armed Forces, after which he took part in the evacuation of wounded servicemen from the line of contact. As a result, two soldiers were successfully transported to a field hospital, and their lives were saved.
