The European Union (EU) already has a signed document providing for the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine. This was announced on January 24 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"Even now, there is a signed agreement that, if necessary, soldiers will be sent to Ukraine. So Europe is not going to go to the <conflict>, but has already gone. It is already in conflict," he said, speaking at an event in Kaposvar, broadcast by M1 TV channel.

According to the Prime Minister, this means the actual involvement of the EU in military operations. Orban also wondered how quickly the consequences of such a decision would affect the daily lives of citizens.

The day before, Orban said that European countries want the conflict in Ukraine to continue. The politician noted that all European efforts are aimed at the intention to prolong military operations further.

At the same time, Politico learned that European leaders were trying to convince US President Donald Trump and his administration that sending American troops to Ukraine as part of security guarantees was the only way to ensure sustainable peace.
