In the Tula region, a man was detained who planned to open gas in an apartment and set off an explosion in one of the apartment buildings in the village of Leninsky. This was reported on January 24 in the press service of the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (UMVD).

"A man born in 1972 was detained and taken to the Leninsky police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Tula for further investigation," the agency's message reports TASS.

It is specified that there were no casualties as a result of the incident. According to the Interior Ministry, on the evening of January 23, the police received information about the man's plans to turn on the gas in his apartment and thereby endanger his own life and the safety of others.

Izvestia reported on January 18 that four people were injured in a gas cylinder explosion in a garage in the village of Zayukovo in Kabardino-Balkaria. Later, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that three victims of a gas explosion in a garage in Kabardino-Balkaria were in intensive care.
