Ukraine and European countries are making attempts to substitute the key issues of the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. This was announced on January 24 by Alexey Polishchuk, Director of the Second CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We see that Kiev, together with European capitals, is currently trying to replace key issues related to territorial realities and the root causes of the crisis by discussing various aspects of post—conflict settlement, including guarantees of security and economic recovery," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
