More than 3 thousand people were left without electricity due to an accident at the Nadezhdinskaya substation in Primorye. This was announced on January 24 in the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Energy and Gas Supply of Primorsky Krai.
"There was an emergency shutdown at the Nadezhdinskaya substation due to equipment damage, accompanied by a fire," the department noted.
The fire was localized, but 3,370 people were left without power in the settlements of Volno-Nadezhdinskoye, Novy, Prokhladnoye, Yuzhny, Shmidtovka, Klyuchy and Solovey Klyuch.
"Socially significant facilities are under special control: a hospital, a bakery, a poultry farm, an orphanage, and a military unit," the ministry stressed.
The power engineers have already prepared a scheme to eliminate the consequences and restore power supply.
Earlier, on January 23, it was reported that a high-alert regime was being introduced in the Murmansk region due to emergency situations amid adverse weather conditions. Governor Andrey Chibis noted that temporary blackouts will be carried out as a priority, while maintaining the supply of electricity to critical facilities, including hospitals, boilers and water supply.
