The Pentagon called the containment of China and the protection of the territory the main priorities of the United States.

The new US National Defense Strategy calls the priorities of the American armed forces to contain China and ensure the protection of their own territory, not Europe. This conclusion follows from a document published by the Pentagon.

"China <...> has been a powerful state in relation to the United States since the 19th century, while its military power continues to grow," the strategy text says.
