Sergeant Zaur Kolhiev was participating in the defense of a recently liberated settlement on the territory of a special military operation when his group was attacked by an enemy FPV drone. On Saturday, January 24, the Russian Ministry of Defense told about the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Kolhiev quickly got his bearings and aimed at the drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with small arms. With an accurate shot, the drone was shot down and detonated in the air, without harming the Russian servicemen.

The Ministry of Defense also noted the bold and decisive actions of Corporal Andrei Abrotkin, who, as part of an engineering group, was engaged in equipping positions and firing points when he noticed the approach of an assault group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Abrotkin decided to take a defensive position and wait for the enemy to approach within firing range. When the assault group approached, the corporal opened fire. He managed to resist the enemy alone until reinforcements arrived, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces sabotage group was completely eliminated.
