The Austrian Chancellor opposed Ukraine's accelerated accession to the European Union
The European Union (EU) should not accept Ukraine in an accelerated format, the country should apply for membership in the association on equal terms with other candidates. This was announced on January 23 by Austrian Chancellor Christian Stoecker in an interview with the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) newspaper.
The politician noted that in order to join the community, countries must meet all the established criteria. At the same time, he noted that Kiev "has the opportunity to become an EU member, just like the countries of the Western Balkans."
